Welcome to SCO online

Welcome to sco-online, the Scottish Committee of Optometrists' NEW website. The SCO's primary role is to provide training to Scotland's 1100+ optometrists and to help members stay informed of the latest developments affecting them and their practice.

Have you recently qualified as an Optometrist and want to work in Scotland?

To comply with the new GOS contract, you must have a competency certificate from the Scottish Committee of Optometrists. This costs £5 (cheques made payable to "Scottish Committee of Optometrists"). You MUST have a full GOC number (student numbers are not accepted). Once you have your GOC number, please send the form and payment to the SCO office. Please call 0131 220 4542 if you are worried about the postal strike or delays to your application. All certificates are processed within 24 hours of receipt at the SCO office.

Please click here and fill in the form to register for your certificate.

Helpline

We all occasionally turn to a colleague to discuss a case. If you are a registered member of SCO you can also turn to your Clinical Helpline. Find out more and read some typical Q&A's.
